In a landmark move, three stadiums in Riyadh, Jeddah and al-Dammam will be ready to receive families by 2018 according to certain regulations.
Head of the Authority Turki al-Sheikh stressed that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman are keen that “Islamic regulations be put in place.”
Restaurants, cafes and video screens would be set up inside the venues, the authority added on Twitter.
In addition, al-Sheikh revealed that ticket prices will also be reviewed.
Last month hundreds of women were allowed to enter a sports stadium in Riyadh, used mostly for football matches, in a one-off event to celebrate Saudi Arabia’s national day.
