The Handicraft Industry Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries and Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development work together to tap local and international markets for products of two factories of Garagous Village pottery and ceramics.
In a statement on Thursday, the chamber’s chairman Mos’ad Omran said the foundation’s support contributed to upping sales of Garagous pottery and ceramics.
The foundation announced its support for the two factories on the fringe of the International Handicrafts Show which wrapped up several weeks ago.
Omran said an agreement was reached with the foundation to launch a 15-month program for developing the two factories.
The Garagous pottery and ceramics factories in Qena have been one of key tourist sites in Egypt for years, therefore the chamber seeks reviving this industry. (MENA)
