In the special session of the Iranian parliament held on Sunday a secret report disclosed that 90 percent of protesters arrested during the mass uprising were young people under the age of 25.
The official account was announced by an official of the Revolutionary Guard (RG) and a member of the education and research committee in the parliament without revealing the numbers of detainees.
Iranian opposition called on the international organizations concerning human rights to take immediate and effective action to free all the detainees without conditions.
The opposition documented cases of forced disappearance, torture and arbitrary arrests among people particularly school and university students.
Some Iranian organizations monitoring human rights, warned of the regime’s intentions to execute the dissidents arrested by RG during the uprising that called for the downfall of the mullahs’ regime.
During the Uprising days, official sources said that hundreds of demonstrators have been detained while the opposition asserted that thousands were held in prison by the regime.
Now, the Iranian uprising is continuing for the eleventh day despite of bloody crackdown that resulted in killing about 50 defenseless protesters.
The demonstrations had broken out in eastern Iran and spread rapidly in several cities in protest against price rise and poor economic and social conditions in the state.
The demonstrators demanded the ousting of the incumbent president Hassan Rouhani and the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
