Russia has enough forces remaining in Syria to withstand possible attacks on its bases, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.
“That contingent that remains, the military infrastructure that remains, at the Hmeimim and Tartus military bases, they are completely capable of fighting these occasional terrorist acts,” the spokesman told reporters.
Pilotless drones carrying explosives attacked Russian bases in Syria over the weekend without causing any casualties or damage, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
“Ten drones carrying explosives attacked the Russian air base at Hmeimim and three others targeted the Russian naval base in Tartus”, both in western Syria, the ministry said in a statement run by Russian press agencies. (MENA)
