The 11th meeting of chairpersons and speakers of Shura, representatives councils and national assemblies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) kicked off here on Monday under the patronage of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah.
In his opening speech, the Kuwaiti emir stressed the necessity of cooperation among the Gulf states to face the growing challenges.
He hailed the joint GCC efforts, noting that such meetings bring GCC citizens closer together.
He also affirmed that the GCC leaders are responsible for addressing the needs and aspirations of their people by cooperating with each other to set a road map to achieve development, amidst different growing challenges in the region. (MENA)
