US President Donald Trump decided to extend a sanctions waiver for Iran, leaving the 2015 nuclear deal intact, Sky News channel reported on Friday.
The decision was taken after a meeting that Trump held with his national security team to decide on the Iranian sanction.
A US official told reporters on Wednesday that if President Trump decided to lift the sanctions on Iran, he may impose a separate set of sanctions against Iranian companies and individuals.
Trump, in a call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday, underscored that Iran “must stop its destabilizing activity in the region.”
During the phone call, Macron reiterated “the determination of France to support the strict implementation of the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement and the importance of it being respected by all signatories,” the Élysée Palace reported. (MENA)
