Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Nabila Makram said Kuwait promised to offer all needed facilities for Egyptian expats in Kuwait to participate in the upcoming presidential elections.
In statements to MENA on Tuesday at the end of her visit to Kuwait, she underlined the depth of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti ties at the popular and official levels.
The minister said she met with Egyptian expatriates in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Jordan to underscore the importance of their participation in the March elections.
She added that the National Elections Authority worked in tandem with the Foreign Ministry and the Egyptian embassies abroad to offer all needed facilities for expats to vote in the elections.
She said that about 9.500 million Egyptian expats are eligible voters according to the statistics of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
Makram left Kuwait for home to stay for 24 hours before embarking on Wednesday on a new tour, including Italy, Australia, Canada.
The minister had already visited France, the US, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Kuwait. (MENA)
