Prosecutor General Nabil Sadeq ordered on Sunday sequestrating funds of terrorist Muslim Brotherhood leader Abdel Moneim Abul Fotouh and 15 others after they were placed by the criminal court on a terror list earlier.
In a statement, Sadeq’s bureau said the sequestration decision comes in light of investigations being carried out by the Egypt’s high state security prosecution and the aforementioned criminal court’s verdict, which proved that all the 16 MB members were involved in terrorist acts.
Earlier, Egypt’s high state security prosecution ordered Abul Fotouh and others to be remanded in custody for 15 days pending investigations on charges of spreading rumors that harm national interests. They are also accused of leading an outlawed group that is seeking to block the rulings of the constitution and laws along with hampering the State institutions from undertaking their work. (MENA)
