Prime Minister Sherif Ismail highlighted Monday the important role of the National Council for Human Rights in promoting and developing human rights and civil liberties.
Ismail was speaking in a meeting with Head of the National Council for Human Rights Mohamed Fayek, adding the state is concerned with upholding human rights values and coordinating with the council as well as studying its recommendations.
Meanwhile, Fayek pointed to Egypt’s efforts in achieving sustainable development, combating terrorism and protecting national security, which is positively reflected on the conditions of human rights.
The council prepares periodic reports on the situation of the human rights in Egypt in light of its role in clarifying the facts with transparency in cooperation with the state’s institutions, he added. (MENA)
