President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held Monday a telephone conversation with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas.
Both presidents discussed the latest developments pertaining to the Palestinian cause, according to presidential spokesman Bassam Radi.
The two leaders agreed on the need to go ahead with the efforts aiming at achieving inter-Palestinian reconciliation and overcoming disputes and obstacles facing the alignment of the Palestinian people and their interest, the spokesman said.
They also tackled the latest developments related to a number of Arab and regional files, a move that falls within the framework of the periodical coordination and consultations between both presidents, Radi added.
For his side, Abbas expressed appreciation for Egypt’s historic efforts in support of the Palestinian case, pointing out that Cairo’s stances towards the Palestinian cause reflect the deeply-rooted and distinguished Egyptian-Palestinian relations and the long standing ties binding peoples of both countries, Rady noted.
They concluded the telephone call by agreeing to continue consultations and coordination towards various issues of common interest, Radi said. (MENA)
