CAIRO – Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Board and Editor-in-Chief of al-Bawaba News, Abdelrahim Ali, said Saturday that those who staged the January 25 revolution in 2011 wanted to achieve economic justice, freedom and human dignity.
We struggled a lot, he added, to have a modern democracy in our country, one that gives citizens a dignified life.
He said at a debate with some western journalists that Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and the Egyptian parliament work now only to modernize the Egyptian state.
He noted in the debate which was aired on private TV, al-Kahir al-Wal Nas, for him to comment on claims by western media on Egypt’s presidential election that Egypt also works to eradicate terrorism.
