Experts: Erdogan floats a trial balloon…will not dare to fight in Libya

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan continues to interfere in the affairs of Arab countries, seeking to control their natural resources, as the Libyan oil reserves are estimated at 74 billion barrels.

Libya is classified as the fifth in the world, and Erdogan hopes to restore his alleged Caliphate through incursion through its terrorist arms and militia.

The Reference polled the opinions of a group of experts on the maritime and security agreements that Ankara signed with the Libyan government of reconciliation led by “Fayez al-Sarraj” on November 27,  which the Libyan Parliament voted unanimously, on Saturday 4 January 2020 to cancel it.

Grave breach

Dr. Ayman Salameh, a professor of Egyptian international law, says that the “Libyan-Turkish” agreement on military cooperation between the two countries violated the relevant Security Council resolutions that imposed sanctions on Libya, as of February 2011, and in the forefront of them is Resolution 1970, which imposes an export ban or Import any weapons to and from Libya.

He added that the UN Security Council has formed a sanctions committee as well as a committee of international experts, to monitor the implementation of all of these UN member states to these resolutions referred to, noting that the mandate of the Turkish Parliament, Erdogan, to send forces to Libya, is a non-mandated that does not establish any centers New legal, for the Turkish and Libyan countries.

Salameh clarified that the Turkish mandate that was issued is nothing but a disregard for international law, a flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations and contempt for the Security Council and its decisions, and the Security Council should exercise its competence and exercise its powers in maintaining international peace and security and deter Erdogan.

He added that “Erdogan” will not be able to send any naval forces, because Egypt will not stand idly if its territorial waters are violated, because the scope of national security extends into the Libyan borders, and that Erdogan will not send regular forces.
