Qatari emir’s mother moving the strings in her country and abroad

The Qatari regime runs into one political scandal after another. There is a new report every day, either about Doha’s funding of terrorist groups or about its interference in the affairs of other countries, including some western countries.

The Qatari opposition site, Qatarileaks, revealed on February 1 that Qatar Educational Institution, which is headed by Moza al-Mesned, the mother of the emir of Qatar, was implicated in financing a French religious agency called IESH that was founded in 2018.

It added that Qatar Educational Institution offered huge funding to the agency which is controlled by the branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in France.

Qatar also fully funds the International League of Muslims, known to be an extremist organization that sponsors terrorist attacks against the haters of Muslims, the Qatarileaks report says.

Actual ruler

Al-Mesned is the actual ruler of Qatar. Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad cannot take a decision without consulting his mother, according to the Qatari opposition.

As prime minister of Qatar, Abdullah bin Nasser objected to Turkish presence in the tiny Gulf state.

Bin Nasser also reportedly opposed the control Turkey imposed on decision-making in Qatar. A tipster recorded what Abdel Nasser said in this regard and gave the recording to Tamim bin Hamad. Tamim hurried to his mother and gave her the recording. She quickly ordered bin Nasser’s sacking.

Far-reaching influence

On November 10, 2019, the Qatari opposition published reports in which it referred to a mysterious role played by Qatari intelligence chief Mohamed al-Mesned, a cousin of the emir’s mother whose influence caused him to be in this position.

Meanwhile, the Turkish opposition side, Turkey Now, revealed that a group of Turkish engineers prepared to file a lawsuit to stop the implementation of the Istanbul Channel project, in which the mother of the emir of Qatari is a main party.
