Shadi Suleiman- Indiana Khaled
For the first time in the history of the Australian Federal Council of Imams, a woman is appointed within the council. Women belonging to the Muslim brotherhood within the European community can spread extremist thought more easily unlike Arab societies, given the Muslims’ fear in European societies for their daughters from Western culture and then attached to Islamic councils.
On March 1, 2020, during its thirteenth meeting, chaired by Shadi Suleiman, the council announced the establishment of a national advisory council for women under the management of the Australian Federal Imams, to take care of Muslim women, and to appoint Hala Amira as its president.
This council aims to work on attracting women as an essential element in social mobility, exploiting the weakness of institutions that support women’s issues, highlighting the council as a model concerned with Muslim issues in all societal groups, and exploiting women as being responsible for upbringing and motherhood, for their ability to move and recruit more easily than men.
The Australian Federal Imams are under the full control of the Brotherhood, which was established in 2006, and includes 250 imams and is responsible for fatwas. The Council is subject to the management of its Grand Mufti, Ibrahim Abu Muhammad.
Fears of the Brotherhood’s expansion
In December 2015, the Australian authorities warned the Brotherhood against transferring its activities to Australian lands, or its attempt to establish bases for its elements.
These warnings came in the wake of the visit of the Mufti of Australia Ibrahim Abu Muhammad to the Qatari capital, Doha, and his meeting with the Mufti of Brotherhood, Youssef Al-Qaradawi, and even announced his joining of the so-called World Federation of Muslim Scholars.
European societies are a fertile environment for the Brotherhood
For his part, Sameh Eid, an expert on Islamic groups, said that Western societies are a fertile environment for spreading the Brotherhood’s thought faster than Arab societies.
Since the 1950s, the Brotherhood has worked to establish a sisters section, which aims to educate a Muslim individual within society, so the sisters section came to support women in its community.
He added in exclusive statements to the Reference that the establishment of the National Consultative Council for Women under the management of the Australian Federal Imams is an extension of the same idea of the Sisters Division, so the work of Muslim Brotherhood in European countries is much easier than in Arab countries.
Exploiting the idea of racism to plant toxins
Sameh Eid pointed out that the Muslim Brotherhood rhetoric directed at Western society differs from Arab society. In European society, the idea of racism, Islam oppression, and war against it is promoted, and its neighborhood is created by creating a strong generation.
On the possibility of the emergence of jihadist women, he made it clear that the emergence of jihadi women who carry out terrorist operations in Europe is excluded during the current period, as there is a rule for the Brotherhood which is postponed violence.
So, their interest during the current period focuses on the large number of their numbers in Europe and that they become a fifth column when creating what they call “Islamic country”.
