One of Qatar’s charity arms shuttered in Sudan

Qatar-affiliated charities operate in a number of countries, especially in Africa, to implement the agenda of the Qatari regime, even as they claim to be working for humanitarian purposes.
The Covid-19 virus outbreak in Qatar has had its toll on the minor Gulf state’s economy. Nevertheless, the regime of Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani continues to lend support dubious organizations that advance the agenda of the International Organization of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Islamic Appeal Organization
A government committee recently disbanded the Islamic Appeal Organization and confiscated its assets. The organization is one of the largest backed by Qatar in Africa.
The decision of the committee included the confiscation of the organization’s funds inside and outside Sudan. The committee also decided to cancel out the legal status of all the companies owned by the organization.
Ties
The Islamic Appeal Organization came into being in 1980. It has four main offices, all of which are affiliated to the International Organization of the Muslim Brotherhood, especially its main office in Qatar. The organization has a headquarters in Sudanese capital Khartoum. It started operating in Khartoum in 1989. It is also active in a number of other Africa capitals.
The board of the organization brings together a large number of the leaders of the International Organization of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Sheikh Qaradawi
Muslim Brotherhood chief religious authority Youssef al-Qaradawi does not hide his relations with the Islamic Appeal Organization. Qaradawi has been backing the activities of the organization since it came to existence.
In 2018, Sheikh Qaradawi posted an article to his website, in which he said he is a member of the board of trustees of the organization.
Gateway
The organization is Qatar’s gateway into the African continent. It has branches in a number of African countries. Qaradawi refers to this in the aforementioned article on his website.
He described the organization as a bridge between what he described as “Islam” and the African continent.
