Doha has not only shed the blood of the people of Somalia through its support for terrorism in Africa, specifically its funding for what is known as Al-Shabaab movement as it has incited during the past days its clients in the Somali Parliament to refuse to enter the UAE medical shipments to help the people in the fight against the novel coronavirus.
During the past few days, the UAE has sent aircraft carrying medical and preventive aid to Magadishu, to support the Somali people in the face of the outbreak of coronavirus and has also contributed to the transfer of aid to the World Health Organization for Somalia, but a number of Somali parliamentarians rejected these shipments.
The total aid carried by the Emirati plane was 27 tons, including face masks, sanitization fluids and protective gloves.
In confirmation of the above, Abdullah Awad, the second deputy speaker of the Somali People’s Assembly, known to be one of the men of Qatar in the country, claimed to have closed the Sheikh Zayed Hospital, adding that the hospital does not offer anything new and beneficial to the Somali people.
The second deputy also refused to enter the Emirati medical shipment, on the grounds that the materials in it were corrupt.
Awad’s position is part of a systematic country campaign targeting Emirati humanitarian activity to help the Somali people with medical supplies.
The Qatari channel, Al-Jazeera, launched a systematic media campaign against the UAE’s medical aid in Somalia, and claimed that it was directed to the northwest, in an effort to revive the dispute between this region and Magadishu.
The Qatari channel was not satisfied with this matter, but it fabricated a false medical report saying that UAE medical aid had major errors, and stated in a report that former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Muhammad had inspected the shipments and found corrupt drugs, despite the fact that the current Somali president is Mohamed Abdullah Vermago.
On this, Mohamed Ezz El-Din, a researcher on African affairs, says that Qatar wants to cover up its failure towards the Somali people, especially since it entered Somalia through commercial projects and did not lend a hand to the people, especially in light of the crisis of coronavirus.
In a special statement to The Reference, Izz al-Din stressed that Qatar is trying to erase the Emirati efforts in Somalia and the continent in particular.
