In light of the world’s preoccupation with the Covid-19 corona virus, the Brotherhood in Libya, represented by the Justice and Construction Party (JCP), has refused to lay down its weapons and focus on the health aspect, as it seeks to enhance its influence by activating its militias during the current pandemic.
JCP Chairman Mohamed Sowan offered advice to Fayez al-Sarraj, the prime minister of Libya’s Government of National Accord (GNA), calling for the need to politically exploit the global corona virus pandemic.
Sowan explained to Sarraj the importance of escalating attacks during the current period in order to achieve gains on the ground, according to a leaked audio recording published by the Libyan newspaper Al-Marsad.
This is in line with the calls being promoted by Libya’s exiled Brotherhood-afffiliated Mufti Sadiq al-Ghariani, who resides in Turkey, as he has repeatedly incited bearing arms, considering the entry of the Libyan National Army (LNA) into Tripoli is more dangerous to the West than the spread of the corona virus.
Ghariani also criticized Sarraj’s budget allocation to counter the corona virus, saying that fighting war should be the priority of the money.
‘Slave of the Turks’
Meanwhile, the Tribal Council of Tarhuna launched an attack on Khaled al-Mishri, head of the GNA’s consultative High Council of State, describing him as Abd al-Atrak (Slave of the Turks). The tribal council stressed that it is performing its national duty to defend land, honor and honor.
According to the Tarhuna Tribal Council, the High Council of State, which is led by Erdogan’s slave Mishri, is a den of the terrorist Brotherhood, through which they have drafted laws of injustice, exclusion and the conquest of cities, Saudi newspaper Al Yaum reported.
Tarhuna tribes stressed that they, the rest of the Libyan tribes, and all members of the Libyan armed forces continue their national mission to restore their true civil state, in which the will of the Libyan people is respected, its dignity is preserved, its institutions are built, and its political and constitutional rights are fulfilled.
In turn, Libyan politician Muhammad al-Zubaidi told the Referecne that the Brotherhood has long demonstrated its defense of its goals, even if this results in the destruction of states and the death of people. He warned that some Libyans will obey the Brotherhood’s calls, which will result in the spread of the corona virus among the Libyans.
The group overlooks the threat of the virus that has the entire world concerned, Zubaida said, adding that if Libya falls into the trap of the virus, the results would be catastrophic.
Zubaidi described the group’s behavior and Sowan’s instructions as opportunism, noting that these instructions mostly come from Turkey, which is sponsoring the Brotherhood in Libya.
