Despite repeated calls by Germany, France, Italy, and the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, for a humanitarian truce in Libya, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Turkish militias supporting Al-Wefaq government in Tripoli led by Fayez al-Sarraj did not respect the truce, as the calls of the tribes of Tarhuna and Bani Walid cities were launched after repeated attacks on them prevented food aid from reaching them.
Tarhuna city is 88 km to the southeast of Tripoli, and it was attacked by Grad rockets from the border town of Maslata, which numbered 20, in conjunction with the advent of the month of Ramadan.
Major General Ahmed Al-Mesmari, a spokesman for the Libyan National Army, accused Turkey of responsibility for those missile attacks, and said that Turkish President Recep Erdogan seeks to penetrate into Africa through mercenaries, militias and ISIS.
The Council of Sheikhs and Notables of Tarhuna tribes addressed appeals after the attack, through social networking sites, condemning the attacks and cutting food aid during the month of Ramadan, and said that this comes at a time when the tribes are suffering successive crises in all economic, health and political aspects, as well as power and fuel outages, water and medicine.
The Council of Tarhuna Tribes held the international community responsible for the continuation of this situation and targeting Turkish aviation for vital installations and supply lines, as well as civilian casualties.
Cold-blooded killing
Five days before this incident, the Tarhuna Tribal Council mourned a 70-year-old sheikh and his sons after the militias killed them in their cold-blooded house without a doubt.
This comes while the city of Bani Walid, located in the northwest of Tripoli, was subjected to 180 km bombardment, during the first days of the month of Ramadan, by Turkish Airlines, which targeted warehouse supplies and fuel.
