Charitable institutions have always played a large role in the survival and continuation of the terrorist organization of the Muslim Brotherhood, especially in the United States of America.
Amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), foundations affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood have been raising donations, claiming that they will spend on supplies to prevent the virus or support refugee camps.
It is notable now when you access the official websites of Muslim Brotherhood organizations in the United States you would find a preliminary form or pop-up, inviting you to donate to enable the institution to confront the virus, as well as the values considered for donation, and you only have to enter on the value that you want to donate by Electronic payment methods.
Even if this form did not appear on some of the Brotherhood’s websites, news of donations and their calls will follow you with every picture or topic you browse.
The Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR) is one of the websites that used the form method, starting from $35 and $50 donations, pointing out that this money will help the council continue its duties in light of COVID-19.
CAIR was not satisfied with only taking advantage of the pandemic, but further called for another donation on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, as it is the zakat of money that Muslims are required to pay, stating that it aims to raise $ 2.6 million by the end of the month.
The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) has also launched calls for donations for the holy month of Ramadan and to get medical equipment, tools and care to citizens amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Sociology Professor Said Sadek told The Reference in an interview is Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated organizations in the United States are currently raising money money to serve its political future.
He stressed that the group does not pay without return, as it raises money in abundance, taking advantage of international circumstances, whether a viral pandemic or even earthquakes to raise more money.
Some of this money is used to serve the Muslim Brotherhood’s project and its own activities, while some is invested politically by providing the poor with services and money and then get electoral votes and political support in return.
