Turkey, Qatar working to sabotage inter-Libyan understandings

The regimes in Turkey and Qatar have strong links with terrorist organizations, especially the Muslim Brotherhood. The two regimes also bankroll terrorist organizations in Libya, especially those operating under the umbrella of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA).

Libyan dialogue

The latest dialogue between Libyan rivals and possibilities of an agreement within this dialogue are raising fears inside ruling quarters in both Turkey and Qatar.

There has been an upsurge in visits by officials from the two countries to Libya at the time of the dialogue. The same officials signed a series of agreements with the GNA, all aiming at fueling tensions in Libya.

Qatar

Head of the Supreme State Council in Tripoli Khaled al-Meshri paid a visit to Qatari capital, Doha, leading a high-level delegation, on October 13. The visit aimed at coordinating positions between Tripoli and Doha on issues of common interest, according to the Libyan News Agency.

Meshri met during his visit a host of Qatari officials, including Minister of Defense Khaled Mohamed al-Attia. Discussions between the two sides focused on meaning of enhancing cooperation.

However, the visit, especially meetings between Meshri and military officials in Qatar, raised many question marks.

The visit came only days after GNA Interior MInister Fathi Bashagha and Foreign Minister Mohamed Taher Sayala met the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad, in Doha in October. The two sides signed an agreement for security cooperation.

The command of the Libyan National Army condemned the agreement. Observers considered it, meanwhile, yet a new proof of Qatari interference in Libyan affairs.
