MP Abdel Rahim Ali, chairman, and editor-in-chief of Al-Bawaba News condemned on Sunday a report published recently by the BBC concerning the political and social situation in Egypt.
In a press statement, Ali said that the report is full of false information and contradictions concerning the political and social situation in Egypt including the situation in prisons and human rights.
The statement noted that the report did not mention any sources, adding that it depended on unidentified sources including anonymous lawyers, human rights activists, and former prisoners.
The report also contained numerous contradictions including admitting that millions of Egyptian citizens called for removing Mohamed Morsi from his post as Egypt’s president during the incidents of the June 30 revolution then claims that his removal was a coup then contradicts itself once again saying that the removal of Morsi was supported by the Egyptian people.
