72% of N. Sinai residents receive supply commodities: Supply min.

Minister of Supply Ali Meselhi said 72% of North Sinai residents receive the supply commodities, adding that the population in North Sinai is 444,000 living on an area of 27,564 kilometers.

Meselhi’s remarks came during President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s inauguration of East Canal Command on Sunday where tactics for Operation Sinai 2018 are being planned.

Meselhi said there are 128 private bakeries, 8 police-affiliated bakeries and 248 depots all over North Sinai.

Also, during the inauguration, Health Minister Ahmed Emadeldin said all the hospitals in Sinai are on high alert in preparation for Operation Sinai 2018.

All preparations were taken six months ago to equip Sinai hospitals with necessary equipment and supplies in terms of blood bags, fully-equipped ambulances and medical personnel.

For two months now, Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali said the ministry has been conducting a thorough research on the families in Sinai to stand on their needs.

Their demands include furniture, job opportunities, social security and medical supplies, she said.

Wali said there are 212 NGOs in Sinai but contacts were made with the most active 15 NGOs to better serve Sinai residents. (MENA)
