Chairman of the Egyptian European Business Council (EEBC) Mohamed Abul Enein has said that Egypt is fighting terrorism at the religious and cultural levels, besides the military.
Addressing the 28th conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, which kicked off here Monday, Abul Enein called for organizing an international conference to eliminate terrorism and reveal its supporters.
The Egyptian army and police are leading a heroic fight against terrorism in Sinai, Abul Enein said, noting that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi appeared in military uniform from the operations room to reflect keenness of the political leadership to purge the peninsula from terrorism.
There is no investment or development with terrorism, Abul Enein said, stressing that the majority of the Egyptian people are harmed by terrorism.
Terrorism has no religion or homeland, he told the conference, adding that some countries do sponsor and support terrorism with the aim to achieve political gains and to drive investors away from terror-hit nations.
Abul Enein praised the comprehensive operation in Sinai conducted by the army and police against terrorists on the peninsula. Egypt is fighting terrorism on behalf of the whole world, he noted.
According to him, some countries are supporting terrorism with the aim to hit the tourism sector on which 92 other industries depend.
Abul Enein rejected US President Donald Trump’s decision to Judaize al Quds and move his country’s embassy in Israel there. This is falsification of history, he noted.
The Palestinian cause will persist because it is one of determination and Egypt will never abandon the Palestinian people, he said. (MENA)
