The French cultural center in Cairo organized Saturday a seminar on the occasion of the Arab world exhibition, scheduled in Paris from March 28 to August 5.
During the seminar, the institute’s supervisor general reviewed the history of the Suez Canal from the Pharaonic era until the 21st century.
He said the exhibition proves that Egypt was at the heart of the ancient world, underlining that the Suez Canal is a symbol of the international history in the 19th and 20th centuries.
He stressed that the international waterway must be documented as a historical landmark.
The exhibition clarifies the history of the Suez Canal starting from the era of the Pharaohs in 1850 BC and until its nationalization in 1956. (MENA)
