Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Dr Abdel Moneim el Banna and UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoud on Tuesday discussed means of intensifying cooperation to reach agricultural development especially in managing irrigation water usage and agricultural exports between the two countries.
During a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the 6th International Date Palm Conference, currently in session here under the auspices of President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed al Nuhayyan, Banna said the ministry has succeeded to obtain new types of strategic crops that save water, fight diseases and adapt to various climate changes with the aim of making best use of water and land.
The two sides tackled increasing trade in agricultural produce and the Egyptian minister reviewed the quarantine and laboratory measures taken recently to protect Egypt’s export reputation and open new markets abroad.(MENA)
