Macron formulates plan to fight Islamism in France

PARIS (Special to The Reference) – The French government will implement a new strategy against sectarianism in his country.

The strategy contains four principal points or elements, according to information obtained by The Reference.

French President, Emmanuel Macron, is amending the strategy with the aim of countering the Islamist danger that has been threatening Europe for some time now.

Members of the political elite in France view this threat as a major challenge that was overlooked by all previous French presidents.

Macron likes to draw a clear line of demarcation between Islam and Islamism. The French president views Islamism as a cancer that has to be uprooted before it can metastasize in his country and in Europe.

Nevertheless, some people express fears for Macron for going that far in fighting Islamism.

The Reference has obtained information about efforts by the French government – in collaboration with all sovereign institutions – to formulate an action plan against secessionism. The plan will also fight Islamism, even without violating the principles of the French Republic. The plan, which enjoys support from the Inter-Ministerial Committee for the Prevention of Secessionism and Radicalization, contains four basic elements.

The first element targets Islamist tools and social isolationism. This element focuses on education, culture and the sports. It will mobilize French authorities, governors and influential agencies in the fields of education and health against these dangers.

The second element of the plan promotes alternative solutions, especially in areas controlled by Islamists.

Macron wants to reintroduce public services to the French public in these areas.

The third element of the plan will boost the control of local authorities in some areas of France, whereas the fourth element will work to protect Islam against Islamism. This will be done by guaranteeing financing for houses of worship, respect for the public order and empowering the administrations of religious societies, according to the Élysée Palace.
