Palestinian-American activist, Linda Sarsour, was instrumental in stoking up tensions in the U.S., especially after she said that she and fellow Americans would not sit on the spectators’ benches.
Sarsour’s remarks were especially influential in New York after the killing by American police of black American man George Floyd in May this year.
Suspicious activities
Sarsour started coming to the surface after she published photos of fires and riots, following Floyd’s death.
She declared support to the riots taking place in a number of American states, especially against police in New York.
She tried to influence the demonstrators by using appealing slogans.
Sarsour is a member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an important arm of the International Organization of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States.
She uses women and black Americans as cards in her campaigns. She used to get funding from Qatar Foundation which is involved in the dubious funding of some organizations and individuals.
Sarsour was selected to be the head of the Arab-American Association of New York which was investigated by the FBI in 2004 against the background of its links with some extremists connected with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Some people view Sarsour as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. She adopts the extremist ideology of the Islamic organization and its ideas.
In 2016, Sarsour described herself as an “Islamic activist”.
She participated in the annual congress of the International Network of the Muslim Brotherhood in North America and Canada.
Islamophobia, jihad
Sarsour campaigned against U.S. President Donald Trump during a conference by CAIR in San Francisco.
She said it is a religious duty for everyone to stand against those who oppress people, not only in the Middle East, but also everywhere else.
We have to remain angry, she said, at those at the White House.
