Cairo – In this context, we present an important research study conducted by political researcher Abdulaziz al-Khamis. In this study he reveals some largely unknown aspects of the January 2011 Revolution. The study unravels the secrets of the revolution, how it was planned, executed and hijacked by underhand interests of some Arab and foreign powers and organizations.
In his research study, al-Khamis pointed out that in early February 2006, a forum was held in Doha, Qatari capital, under the title: “Forum for the Future”. After this forum drew to a close, the so-called, “The Project of Future of Change in the Arab World,” came out.
The missions were assigned: On one hand, Qatar was to side with the Islamists, and America was to side with the liberal youth, on the other.
This cooperation has greatly stimulated young people to be at the helm of change, utilizing the modern media tools and electronic means of communication, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and others.
The Muslim Brotherhood, who physically joined the Egyptian revolution very late, had begun their youth-led work for change and mobilization as early as 2006 in conjunction with Qatar that had provided all material and financial support, as I will explain later on.
The Qatari mission included two main projects. The first was represented in Al-Nahda project, run by Dr. Jassim Sultan, a Brotherhood veteran who has always committed to and sought to apply the Brotherhood instructions.
The second project in the Qatari mission was represented in the Academy of Change, run by al-Qaradawi’s son-in-law, Dr. Hisham Morsi. Morsi has been a prime mover in guarding the intellectual lines and methodology of change and renaissance planned and set by Dr. Sultan.
On the Egyptian question, the project, according to its architect Dr. Jassem Sultan, encourages the Egyptians to rally around in order to determine who should be president of Egypt, then asks for mobilizing for winning as many seats as they could in the parliament, mobilizing for salvaging the economic situation, and mobilizing for preserving national unity and security. The project does not even have a starting point, priorities or prospects but rather it gives a long litany of the scheduled mobilization requests, and that is it!
In this same context, we point out that in order to have leaders who understand well the Qatari-funded and Brotherhood-planned al-Nahda project, there had been online training and preparation programs which aim at exposing trainees to concepts of an emerging society, stages of Renaissance movements, courses of Renaissance; from where it begins, and what are the keys to it, and suchlike.
It is easy to know how the Nahdha Project helped in triggering the Egyptian revolution when we know that Abdel Rahman Mansour, who created the well-known Facebook group: “We are all Khaled Said,” was the prime mover behind calls for staging a revolution on January 25th, 2011.
Activist Wael Ghoneim, who moderated the page, objected to Mansour’s choice of that specific day; however Ghoneim later approved it after Mansour had convinced him of the various programs within the Nahdha Project in cooperation with the Academy of Change. Those programs comprise cooperation projects between the Brotherhood-affiliated institutions and think tanks such as “Tanmia Center for Studies & Consultations”.
The Brotherhood banks with Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) that facilitates their financial operations. The banking fees are usually wired to a bank account for the “Change Academy,” which organizes the training administratively.
The Brotherhood is expected to start new intensive training courses next November. The Brotherhood has different projects not only for adults but also for youngsters, such as the Association of Adolescent Training, which attracts teens between the ages of 12 to 15.
The project’s sponsors and organizers encourage the trainees, as much as their followers, to use certain media outlets, such as Al Jazeera Network, IslamOnline Website, Al JazeeraTalk, and the Daleel satellite channel.
In this same vein, we have learned that both Qatar and America have agreed to allocate large sums of money in support of the campaigns of a number of Egyptian youth who were running for seats in the parliamentary elections.
The Qatari support for the Brotherhood operations is like an open contract that dictates that Qatar would either support and stand by the Brotherhood until they win the polls, in countries where the ballot box is the final arbiter of power or otherwise; and it would support and supply them with arms in countries where regime change requires decisive military action, as in Libya and Syria.
Egyptian Journalist and Member of Parliament, Dr. Abdel Rehim Ali is an expert on Islamist Movements and political Islam. This essay is adapted from his upcoming book “Qatar: The Destabilizer of the Middle East: The Full Story of Grand Conspiracy,” which will be published later this month.
