Chinese police shut down the Victoria’s Secret party

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show might be over, but somehow its bad luck streak has persisted. An after-party held at a venue in Shanghai, China, was reportedly shut down by the Chinese police.

The party started at 9 p.m., but it was cut short when the music stopped just 10 minutes before midnight.

“They want us to finish. We are sorry, we tried,” a woman directing the party said, as uniformed police officers entered the venue.

Even a star-studded guest list that featured the likes of Harry Styles, Bella Hadid, Lais Ribeiro, and Alessandra Ambrosio couldn’t sway the Chinese police.

And, to be honest, no one seems to be surprised that the party was shut down. From Gigi Hadid’s last-minute decision not to walk to Ming Xi’s fall on the runway, this is hardly the first setback the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has faced this year. You can read the rest of our coverage here.
