The Egyptian Railway Service decided to operate two extra trains from Cairo to Alexandria and vice versa to ferry football fans who will attend Al Ahly’s friendly with Spain’s Atletico Madrid.
The match, to be held under the slogan “Peace Against Terrorism, will be played at Alexandria’s Borg El Arab stadium on Saturday.
The two trains will set off from Cairo station at 9:30 a.m. and return from Alexandria at 22:10 p.m. after the end of the match.
Tickets will be sold for EGP 25 each.
Earlier in the day, Alexandria security chief Moustafa Nemr held a meeting with representatives of the Egyptian Football Federation and Falcon private security company to secure the match.
Security will be beefed up on all roads leading to the stadium. Metal detectors will be installed on all gates and only ticket holders will be allowed in.
Also, surveillance cameras will be installed on the gates. (MENA)
