Experts: Tunisia suffers great losses after suspension the Emirates flights

Economic experts revealed that the Tunisian gov’s decision to stop the Emirates flights was disappointing to many Tunisians who have interests there and causing great losses for them.

The decision came after the Tunisian women barred from flying to UAE over security fears, but this was for only a short period just for a few hours and the restrictions had been lifted.

Experts added, UAE have the right to protect the security of the country, especially with the presence of more than 8000 Tunisians Fighting with ISIS and other organizations accompanied by more than 200 Tunisian women.

The Tunisian decision will cause huge losses for businessmen investing in UAE in Jebel Ali region.

Experts have suggested that UAE companies may not accept re-operating the Tunis- Dubai flights after this hasty decision, and its decision will be commercial rather than political-related as done by the Tunisian civil aviation authorities.

The Tunisian Ministry of Transport said in a statement that it had decided to suspend flights of the Emirates Airlines to and from Tunisia until the company was able to find a suitable solution to operate its flights in accordance with international laws and treaties

A three-day crisis broke out between Tunisia and Abu Dhabi after the latter’s airlines banned Tunisian women from traveling to and from the UAE, which was met by a summons to the UAE ambassador to Tunisia to inquire about the reasons for this decision.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash, announced that his country respected and appreciated Tunisian women. However, the Tunisian Ministry of Transport issued stopping the Emirates flights to and from Tunisia.
