Heavenly religions innocent of terrorist attacks on places of worship- Al Azhar

(MENA) – The World Association for Al Azhar Graduates under the chairmanship of Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed el Tayyeb stressed on Saturday that Islam and all heavenly religions have nothing to do with cowardly terrorist attack on Mar Mina church in Cairo district of Helwan, which targeted partners of the homeland.

In a statement, the association noted that all religions call for peace, mercy and love and ban attacking places of worship and civilians.

Such terrorist attack would only boost steadfastness and strength of the nation in the face of evil powers, the statement said, adding that each attack that targets the nation only harms the attacker and enhances unity and convergence among citizens.

It hailed the strenuous efforts exerted by the army and police to secure the homeland and the citizens, expressing appreciation to the citizens’ cooperation with the bodies concerned to encircle terrorism that will be definitely eliminated.

It offered condolences to the Egyptian people over the victims of the attack.
