Ethiopia and Egypt have agreed to work on developing friendship and cooperation, Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn said.
The two sides have agreed to work in trade, investment, peace and stability as well as exchange experiences in various fields, he said as quoted by the Ethiopian news agency.
The premier further said he sensed during his visit to Egypt that there are Egyptian businesspersons who are eager to invest in Ethiopia.
Hailemariam had talks with more than 25 owners of huge companies in Egypt.
As there are investors who are ready to invest in Ethiopia “we must move quickly to seize this opportunity”, the prime minister stated.
“I have seen the desire of Egyptian investors to invest in Ethiopia. They have tried hard to construct their own industrial park and invest. This work has been going on, but there was foot dragging on our part. What we have now decided is to stop this and strengthen economic relation”, the Premier elaborated. (MENA)
