Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi received on Wednesday a written message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in which he asserted support for the relations between Cairo and Baghdad in all fields.
The message was handed over by presidential assistant for national and strategic projects Ibrahim Mahlab, who is visiting the Iraq capital, an Iraqi cabinet press release was quoted by the state news agency as saying.
Mahlab discussed with Abadi ways to promote the bilateral cooperation in the domains of health, energy, industry and housing.
Mahlab is paying a several days’ visit to Iraq, leading a high-profile delegation including Communication and IT Minister Yasser el-Qady, Health Minister Ahmed Emad Eddine Rady, Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan and Arab Contractors chairman Mohsen Salah.
The visit comes upon directives from President Sisi to reiterate Cairo’s support for Iraq and to promote cooperation between the two Arab countries. (MENA)
