“No one forced to pull out from the presidential elections” Abdul Rahim Ali said

“There are no calls to boycott the presidential elections” the MP and renowned journalist Abdul Rahim Ali said. Ali said in an INTERVIEW with the French channel France 24 that the minority who called for boycotting the presidential elections represents NO ONE.  He also defied anyone who claimed that he was forced to leave the race.

The MP challenged the TV show presenter to phone the former PM Ahmed Shafiq, to clarify his attitude towards running the elections. He aimed to get a statement from Shafiq assuring that he chooses to pull out of the presidential campaign voluntarily when he realized that he is not fit for the race.

Asking about the other candidate Samy Annan position in the race Ali confirmed that any military rank cannot run the elections as long as the candidate is in service.

Ali made it clear that Annan should present his resignation before running the elections “it is not allowed to anyone to run the elections without being in the legal framework. Ali touched abound that Egypt lives extra-ordinary stage after two revolutions.
