CAIRO – 17 February 2018: Editor in Chief of Al Bawba News website and head of Middle East studies center, Abdulrahim Ali reviewed terrorism awakening in Egypt in particular and the rest of the Middle Eastern region in general.
Ali mentioned during the conference held in the German city of Munich several terrorist operations in Egypt throughout history, such as the assassination of the late President Muhammad Anwar el-Sadat in 1981, the assassination attempt against late President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1954 and before that the assassination of Egyptian Prime Minister during Kingdom era Mahmoud El Nokrashy Pasha in 1948.
Terrorism persisted to exist in Egypt even after the ouster of former President Mohammed Morsi in 2013, particularly in Sinai which witnessed one of the most heinous crimes on 24 November 2017, when 40 gunmen attacked a mosque during Friday Prayers leaving 433 killed and injured.” added Ali during his word at the conference
Ali highlighted the current terrorist attacks waged against Copts, Churches and Security officers in Egypt, where dozens were killed to snatch power.
The conference is held on the sidelines of the 54th edition of Munich Security Conference in Germany started Thursday. A hashtag says #Stop_Qatari_Funding_for_Terrorism circulated Twitter website amid the conference.
