Head of the Middle East Studies Center in Paris and Editor-in-Chief of al-Bawaba News, Abdel Rehim Ali, said today that the Muslim Brotherhood had a plan to infiltrate state institutions in Egypt.
Speaking at a seminar at the French Press Club in French capital Paris, Ali added that none of the members of the group had succeeded in doing this.
Nonetheless, they are present in labor and professional unions, Ali said.
He said the Brotherhood had plans to form its own militias in Cairo and the other Egyptian provinces, including Sinai, with support from the Gaza Strip-ruling Palestinian movement Hamas.
He said Brotherhood business mogul Khairat al-Shatir confided plans in this regard at a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi when he was still the minister of defense of Egypt.
Al-Shatir told al-Sisi then, Ali added, that he had 100,000 Brotherhood members fully armed at his disposal and ready to act when they are given orders.
