The cabinet approved at a meeting Thursday under Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, a $80 million grant agreement with the US to develop the education sector in Egypt.
Investment Minister Sahar Nasr announced this during a press conference with Education Minister Tarek Shawky.
Nasr said the two ministries are boosting cooperation in order to enhance educational services.
She said that the head of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will be visiting Cairo soon to sign a number of agreements in the field of education, especially pre-school and elementary education.
For his part, Shawky said that a delegation from the Education Ministry is planned to visit Tokyo late this month to resume talks on the implementation of a number of deals connected with modernizing the Egyptian education system. (MENA)
