The General Authority For Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) agreed to set up a youth project for small and medium-sized enterprises in Qantara area in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to give a priority to youth projects.
The project, proposed by the Egyptian Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Association, will be set up on an area covering one square kilometer for young people of Canal cities and Sinai, said head of SCZone Mohab Mamish.
It will include industrial complexes for ready-to-wear clothes, wrapping materials, electrical appliances and medical supplies, he added.
The project, titled Boushret Kheir (good omen), will provide more than 35,000 jobs for young people.
The project will be carried out over three stages, the last of which will be finalized in 2024, said deputy chairman of SCZone for northern zone Abdel Kader Darwish.
The project’s total investments are estimated at 1.2 billion pounds, he added. (MENA)
