The Arab Center for Health Awareness (Waai) organized a number of campaigns and activities during the first half of February to increase awareness of school students on the importance of personal cleanliness and learning first aid basics.
The campaign included schools in Cairo’s old district of Sayeda Zeinab.
In statements on Wednesday, Secretary-General of the Arab Medical Union Osama Raslan underlined the importance of teaching students healthy habits and good hygiene practices from an early age, noting that such basics could protect them against many diseases.
Waai plans to launch a campaign from February 17 to 21 in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, targeting villages in Beheira governorate with the aim of spreading awareness about the dangers of marriage at early age and its impact on the health of the mother and child.(MENA)
