CAIRO – Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Board and Editor-in-Chief of al-Bawaba News Abdelrahim Ali denied Sunday the presence of religious minorities in Egypt.
He added at a debate on private TV al-Kahira Wal Nas that Egypt’s Christians and Muslims were partners in all aspects of life.
The Muslim Brotherhood and other radical movements, Ali said, tried to sow the seeds of strife in Egypt by causing problems between Muslims and Christians.
Daesh showed its ugly face when it killed 310 Muslim worshippers at a mosque in Sinai late last year, Ali said.
The same group killed Christians as they performed their prayers inside churches, Ali added.
He said Egyptians are made up of one fabric and that nobody will succeed in dividing them any time in the future.
