Clashes between Assad regime and Daesh militants re-erupted in several areas in southern Damascus on Monday, according to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights.
The clashes come at a time the Syrian army is making more gains on the ground against Daesh militants.
The number of regime forces who were killed in clashes with Daesh militants since April 19 rose to 215.
Daesh has been expelled from most of Syria four years after they declared their Islamic “caliphate” across large swathes of Syria and neighboring Iraq in 2014.
But it still holds around five per cent of Syrian territory, in eastern and central desert holdouts and on the edge of Damascus.
