Eight personnel of the Syrian army and its allies have been killed in fierce clashes with militants of Daesh terrorist group in the Badia desert, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.
The London-based group added that six Daesh terrorists have also been killed in the clashes, Alhurra news channel reported.
The Syrian forces have deployed reinforcements in the vast Badia desert region and have taken control of new sites near the border with Iraq, it added.
