The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Friday the terrorist attack that targeted a security checkpoint in Zliten city, east of Tripoli.
In a statement, OIC Secretary General Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen described the attack as a “criminal act” that aims to hamper the national dialogue efforts as well as to undermine security and stability in the country.
Othaimeen also extended his condolences to the victims’ families and to Libya’s government and people.
The Ministry of Interior of Libya’s Government of National Accord has declared a state of alert in the wake of the attack that left at least seven personnel dead and five others wounded.
