Sitting behind the computer screen, Aisha, the daughter of Khairat al-Shater, the deputy leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, announcing from time to time that brotherhood tribulation will not last comparing why is happening to the Brotherhood to what had happened during the Islam’s Prophet Mohammed when he started calling for Islam.
She also use the Quran verse “Indeed, Allah defends those who have believed. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone treacherous and ungrateful” to comment on her father’s silence during trials.
Using words out of its context and mentioning events experienced by the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions to show similarities with what the group has experienced over the past 90 years is the strategy used by the Muslim Brotherhood whenever they face a crisis.
To give a kind of holiness to the founder of the group Hasan al-Banna (1928), and other leaders, they use verses of Quran which were meant to describe prophets, then later, they criticize and demonize anyone who violates their approach.
A year ago, a book entitled “An Attempt to free the Prophet’s Biography of the organizational Religious interpretation” was published by its authors (Rasha Abdel Hamid, Hamdi Rizk and Mohamed Abdel-Aal); the purpose was to free the texts from the Islamist groups interpretations which don’t pay attention to the context of the verses.
According to the book, the Muslim Brotherhood, who reached momentum in the 1930s, used to pretend, among loyalists, that the group is representing the same concepts of the Prophet and his companions. Some books were released during this period including «looks into Prophet’s biography», by the founder of the group Hassan al-Banna, «jurisprudence of biography» by Mohammed al-Ghazali and «Biography of the Prophet .. Lessons and thoughts» by the observer of the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria, Mustafa Sibai, and other books.
According to the authors of the book «An Attempt to free the Prophet’s Biography of the organizational Religious interpretation», the Muslim Brotherhood took the biography of the Prophet and applied the their political project on it. The authors stress that the leaders of the group made efforts in interpreting weak or unapproved Ahadeeth (Prophet sayings or teachings) in attempts to extract usefulness and to use it as justification for the group’s action.
Perhaps the most prominent books among the leaders and members of the Muslim Brotherhood, is «the dynamic approach in the biography of the Prophet», by Munir Ghadban, the general observer of the Brotherhood in Syria in 1985.
The researchers categorize the two-part book as the most dangerous as it adapt the biography of Prophet to serve the group’s concepts. The author made comparisons between the stages of the group passed through since its foundation and what the Prophet went through during calling for Islam and migration. In the book, the author mentioned that the Prophet chose some of his wives to strengthen his Islamic, and urged Brotherhood to follow him in this regard.
According to Haitham Abu Zeid, a researcher in the field of Islamic movements, el-Ghadban’s book has been the a reference for the Brotherhood’s families for more than 20 years, and all the senior and intermediate Brotherhood leaders and all members of the group studied it.
In an article in Al-Shorouq newspaper published in February 2014, Abu Zeid pointed out that the Muslim Brotherhood benefited from the book, not only as a method adopted by the organization, but because its ideas are all derived from the Prophet’s biography.
On the other side, Tharwat al-Kharabawi, a researcher in the affairs of Islamic movements, said that the Brotherhood were founded on concepts that contradict the Holy Qur’an and weak speeches to mobilize young people And give the group a kind of holiness.
