Sunni-Sunni conflict
The conflict in Iraq is always between Sunnis and Shiites; however, the conflict over the Ministry of Defense has taken another turn. Observers have revealed that the competition for this ministerial portfolio peaked between the Reform’s Sunni and the Construction’s Sunni.
Abdul Mahdi announce the formation of his government with 14 ministers voted by parliament, without announcing the other six ministries have not been agreed upon, especially the Ministries of Defense and Interior.
Abdul Mahdi is still facing many challenges and obstacles because of the Iraqi political forces’ struggle over the sovereign portfolios between the Sunni and Shiite blocs on the one hand and the Sunni-Sunni bloc on the other and the Shiite-Shiite side on the other.
Observers believe that the Iraqi Prime Minister faced pressure will extend to the pressure of the Iraqi Shiite parties to keep the internal and oil portfolios, because the first bag is linked to many sensitive files, and the second link to the country’s financial income .
The Iraqi analyst Abduljabbar al-Jubouri told the “Reference”, that the conflict on the Ministries of Defense and Interior will continue and will not resolve easily, saying: “The continuation of these conflicts, which seek for sectarianism, will be the reason for forming the government of Abdul-Mahdi, after more than 3 months, among the escalation of the conflict.
