Russia detains elements of “Daesh” before carrying out disaster in Moscow

In the last hours of Friday, the Russian authorities announced the arrest of six elements in a cell belonging to the «Daesh» organization, which was planning a number of terrorist attacks in the capital Moscow, through the use of rifles and improvised explosive devices, according to the news agency «Reuters»  which made it clear that the cell was receiving terrorist directives from members of the Syrian Daesh.

Russia has been subjected to several attacks, most notably in April 2017 St. Petersburg metro station, which resulted in the death of 14. In addition to the threats that Daesh directed to the World Cup, but they did not carry any threat of them.

The threats that Daesh has directed to Russia in the past months about attacks on the venues of the 2018 World Cup are apparently being tried by the organization at the moment.

The Caucasus region of northern Russia is one of the favorite locations for the recruitment of Russian terrorist elements in order to join the terrorist organizations and organizations in Syria. Both Chechnya and the Caucasus have become important targets for Daesh.

According to the Russian authorities, there are about 700 people from the North Caucasus in the ranks of Daesh of Iraq and Syria, according to a statement issued by the Russian government.

At the same time that the Russian authorities estimated this figure, a research center specialized in security matters «Sofan Group», the number of Caucasians in the Daesh up to 2500 Caucasian and Chechen elements.

According to a statement issued by the Russian police published in the Russian and international newspapers, Daesh has sought during the past three years to recruit a large number of Russian elements to them.

In this context, Mukhtar al-Ghobashi, a political analyst and vice president of the Arab Center for Political and Strategic Studies, said that Daesh in Russia possessed a large number of his individual wolves. In addition, a large number of terrorist elements returned to their country after the losses suffered by the organization in Syria and Iraq last year and all of them are receiving instructions from leaders in Syria and Iraq.

In an exclusive statement to El-Marga’a, Ghobashi stressed that the organization of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi failed to implement the threats of the 2018 World Cup, and is currently trying to compensate for the failure of the media and proves that he is capable of launching terrorist attacks in the heart of the Russian capital «Moscow».
