The Iranian regime is increasingly being clamped down, especially following the disclosure of its ongoing terrorist activity in European countries, which changed the European position towards the current “mullahs” regime, to the extent that put Tehran in a new dilemma.
Denmark’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anders Samuelsen stressed that an attempt to assassinate an Iranian opponent on Danish soil was “unacceptable”, revealing the recall of the Danish ambassador from Tehran for consultation.
“Iran’s attempt to assassinate Danish territory is unacceptable,” Samuelson wrote on his official Twitter page. “The Danish ambassador has been summoned to Tehran to consult and Denmark will consider other options with its European partners.”
Terrorist diplomacy
A few months after the arrest of Belgian and French authorities, six people, including an Iranian diplomat working in Vienna, came on suspicion of preparing an attack targeting a gathering of the opposition Iranian People’s Mujahideen Organization (PMOI) in the French suburb of Villepinte.
According to a Belgian public prosecutor’s statement, two people preparing to carry out a suicide attack in the suburb and an Iranian diplomat who was in contact with them were arrested in Germany.
The Belgian, French and German authorities arrested six people, including an Iranian diplomat who was in Vienna on suspicion of involvement in planning the bombing of a rally of Iranian opposition movement in exile.
The Belgian Attorney-General said that Amir (38 years) and Nassima (33 years), are a couple with Belgian citizenship “suspected of having attempted to carry out an explosion” in the suburb of Villepinte, in the French capital of Paris, France, during a conference organized by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, known as the “People’s Mujahideen”.
The couple, who said Belgian police said they were “of Iranian origin,” and were carrying 500 grams of explosive ATP and a detonator when they were stopped by special police in a residential area of Brussels.
“The terrorists from the regime of the mullahs in Belgium, with the help of the regime’s diplomats, planned this attack,” the movement said, calling on the movement to close Iranian embassies in Europe.
In Paris, a judicial source confirmed the arrest of three people in France in the context of the investigation into the attempted bombing. Among the detainees is a man named Merhad (54 years) who was arrested near the assembly, while the other two were arrested in the city of Sinlis, north of Paris.
The judicial source confirmed that “the investigations aimed at clarifying the nature of the relations that could link them to the suspects who were arrested in Belgium.” The Belgian prosecutor’s statement said that an Iranian diplomat working at the Iranian Embassy in Vienna was in contact with the couple who had been arrested in Germany.
The mullahs’ siege
The Iranian researcher, Hisham al-Baqali, said that the terrorist schemes in Europe, funded by Iran, have begun to appear significantly during the recent period, due to increased Iranian activity in Europe.
Al-Baqali, in a statement to the Reference, said that the reasons for the increase of Iranian activity in Europe are two: the first is the suppression and threat of opposition residents in European countries, and the second is to influence the European countries to expel the opposition, and pressure on the other hand, so that there will be European moves against US sanctions.
