The death toll from the Easter Sunday suicide bombings in Sri Lanka has risen to 310 and police say they have arrested 40 suspects, SBS reported Tuesday.
As a state of emergency took effect on Tuesday giving the Sri Lankan military wartime powers, police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara confirmed the raised death toll.
President Maithripala Sirisena declared Tuesday a day of mourning.
