The Syrian army continued its operation against the terrorist groups in Hama, while Russian aircraft bombed takfiri targets on Tuesday. The Syrian News Agency (SANA) said that the National Army forces had taken control of al-Hamra area, advancing towards al-Howeayz district.
SANA added that the advance of the Syrian army was carried out under heavy bombardment of the Syrian army’s helicopters aircraft, targeting the frontlines of terrorist groups, particularly Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.
Meanwhile, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham said fighting was violent near al-Howeayz and Ghazal Square in Hama.
The state-run Sham FM radio said: “Syria’s national army took control of al-Hamra the north-western Hama countryside”.
Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said that Syrian forces should return to territories agreed upon to reduce hostilities and casualties.
Political analyst Mohamed Mahmoud said the Syrian army’s military operations against terrorist groups in Idlib and the rural areas would have positive results.
“The operations ill defeat the terrorist groups. However, this will not happen in the near future due to security and political tensions in Syria,” Mahmoud told THE REFERENCE.
The political analyst said that Turkey had stalled the Syrian army from wiping out the terrorist groups, citing that Ankara supports these groups as it is seeking to eliminate the Kurds in Syria.
